Chippa x Wild Things Hybrid Twin x NPJ
Chip has been surfing our hybrid twin set in one of Neal Purchase Jnr's boards (the Chip Fish) and he's been absolutely ripping on it.
From NPJ: ‘The Chip Fish was designed and shaped as modern Fish for Chippa who is a light and agile surfer. It is designed to be surfed aggressively in small to medium waves, with a blend of modern and classical elements. It has a rocker and foil more similar to my Hybrid egg style shapes, complemented by a single concave and pinched soft rails. The other major factor is a hip curve to a pulled in 8” inch tail (compared to 11-12” traditional fishes for longer horizontal surfing), which assists in ease of fast direction changes in the pocket and faster rail to rail transition. All in all, a great small wave grovel board to create heaps of speed and agility in small to medium waves.’
Chippa has been running our Hybrid Twin set in his fish. This fin template is ideal for both traditional and more performance oriented fish shapes, balancing the drive and speed of a keel and the loose responsive feel of a more upright pivot template. Chippa's approach really exemplifies what this fin was designed for — high performance surfing with glide and flow.
